New shocks and upgrades

A.R.S. now has a new rear shock valving that controls the oscillation of the rear of the chassis. This new valving will take the hop out of the right rear corner. We can make this valving update to any existing gas shocks or any new rear shocks.

Along with many shock valving updates A.R.S. has developed the internal hydraulic bump stop. The internal bump stop has been a huge gain for racers that want to control the bump stop spring rates of the rear shocks. Now the internal bump stop is available in a cockpit adjustable model.

 

Valving Updates

Left Front

There are a couple of things that need to be addressed in the left front shock dampening. The rebound holds cross weight in the chassis which creates forward bite. Too much rebound pulls the tire off the ground and makes the chassis push mid-corner to exit. The rebound is reduced when the tracks goes slick to make sure chassis has good side bite. The rebound dampening requirements changes on a short tight corner track versus a fast sweeping corner track.

The compression on the left front is set for corner entry.

 

Right Front

The right front rebound controls the weight transfer to the rear tires. Now with the ability to generate more traction with the rear shocks we can leave addition rebound in the right front shock. This makes the front end more responsive and, with more control, better through the rough. When the racetrack dries out rebound is reduced for more forward bite. The faster cars require more compression on the right front to keep the chassis secure on corner entry and hold cross weight in the chassis. The gas front shocks now use the M2 pistons like the rear shocks. This piston allows the front tires to gets through the rough and irregularity of the race track.

 

Right Rear

We have put a lot of work in developing a better right rear shock. The right rear shocks has a new valve curve that creates more traction than ever but still creates enough high speed control to dampen the oscillation or hop. This has always been the challenge to provide both of these requirements. By changing the balance of the piston to base valve flow we have developed a great right rear shock. The rebound range allows you to soften the rebound enough for heavy track conditions, and then stiffen the rebound for maximum traction. The gas shocks are also available in a double adjustable model to adjust rebound and adjust the compression independently if desired.  We recommend the piggy-back canister on both rear shocks. This provides more gas volume which makes the right rear tire get through the rough much better than before.

Left Rear

The left rear shock is one of the most critical on the race car. It is a fine balance in valving a shock that has enough rebound to keep the left rear tire driving, but not too much that it kills side bite. This shock also contains the new valve curve that creates more traction than ever with that special valving curve. We build this shock with a 5 degree adjustment needle to be able to fine tune the low speed rebound. This keeps more left rear drive in the chassis but enough adjustment range for all track conditions. This allows you to back the rebound out and free the chassis up when the track is fast and heavy. Then you can increase the rebound when the track dries out to create more forward bite. We recommend the piggy-back canister on the left rear also to provide more gas volume to create more traction. This shock is also available in a double adjustable model to adjust rebound and compression.

 

SHOCK DYNO TESTING SERVICE

Now that the racing season is over, this is the ideal time to start preparing for next season.  Many of our customers send all their shocks in to be dynoed at this time of the year, so that they can be checked after a long season of racing.  To urge all of our customers to check the condition of their shocks before next season, we are reducing the cost for shock dyno service on any A.R.S. shocks to $10 per shock until January 31, 2024.  This reduced shock dyno offer will give you a chance to evaluate the condition of your shocks after a season of racing and at the same time review any new valving combinations. When sending your shocks to us for service, please enclose a note with return address, phone number, and a brief description of what you would like done to your shocks.  A shock maintenance form is available from our website. After shocks are dynoed, we can call you with the results and discuss the outcome of your shocks or any new shock combinations.  Many customers send all their shocks to us during this special dyno offer, so send your shocks in as early as possible to avoid any delays in preparing for next season.

The 3200 Series shock is a small body mono-tube (gas) shock with a hard black anodized aluminum body. This shock uses CNC machined aluminum internal parts designed for racing with no aftermarket parts.  These shocks contain the latest T/C valving for maximum traction.  They come in either A or B-Model Cockpit Adjustable.  The base valve design in this shock allows for very low gas pressure to be used and still function properly.  This shock has a Schrader valve that will accept 10-100lbs. gas pressure which provides for fine tuning of the chassis balance.  The small body shock accepts 1 7/8”, 2 ¼” & 2 ½” I.D. Spring & is available in 5”, 6”, 7”, 8” & 9” shaft lengths.

Rears

The 3200 Series shock is a small body mono-tube (gas) shock with a hard black anodized aluminum body and canister. This shock uses CNC machined aluminum internal parts designed for racing with no aftermarket parts. These shocks contain the latest T/C valving for maximum traction. This shock comes in A or B-Model Cockpit Adjustable. The base valve design in this shock allows for very low gas pressure to be used and still function properly. When combined with our canister option and the ability to run low rod pressure this shock has virtually no rod pressure build up and allows for maximum grip a driver can feel.  This shock allows the racer to adjust the rebound and compression dampening completely independently. This shock allows for the rebound to be adjusted at the eye of the shock and the compression to be adjusted on the remote canister of the shock. This shock has a Schrader valve that allows fine tuning of the gas pressure which provides for fine tuning of the chassis balance.  This shock will eliminate the need for extra shock inventory by creating one shock for each corner of your car. The small body shock accepts 1 7/8”, 2 ¼” & 2 ½” I.D. Spring & is available in 5”, 6”, 7”, 8” & 9” shaft lengths.

Fronts

The 1000 Series Shock is a small body twin tube with a hard black anodized aluminum body. This shock uses CNC machined aluminum internal parts designed for racing with no aftermarket parts.
